About

Lola Lustosa is an independent Brazilian Artist, Performer and Filmmaker based in Berlin.

Lola Lustosa uses mostly Time, Light, Space, Improvisation and the Movement of the Human Body as inspiration for her Work.

She has presented her videos and performances in a number of festivals and taken part in exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Berlin , Paris, Stockholm, Helsinki, Rome, Cidade do México, Hong Kong, Chandigarh…

As Co Founder of MUSTERZIMMER, since 2012, she had the opportunity to work on the montage and curation of several venues in Berlin.

The artist collaborates as a producer, sponser, artist and all she can take with Plataforma Berlin Festival since 2011.

Co-founder of Broken Loop Collective since 2018.

She has worked with Arto Lindsay, Eemil Karila, Mari Stockler, Martha Hincapié Charry, Alexandra Pirici, Jean Marie Dubrul, Peter Goss, Tero Puha, Serge Ivanov, Jarkko Räsanen, Christoph Wirth, Laura Leiner, Andrea Rama, Alehandro Chellet,Vanessa Kocaric, among others.

With the ongoing virtual performance, “Ego open forever “, mentioned at Wall Street International, she has gotten the position of one of the first artists to question the social media, defining Facebook as the biggest ego manager in history. This performance was the starting point to rise works where she questions our social Identity and awareness about the future.

Alchemy, rituals, witchcraft, transforms into theatre plays where the public can visit her particular perceptions and connections with time and space. ” Theatre as a martial art” is her way to express her personal urges in life towards our future.

Based in Berlin since 2011, the Brazilian artist has developed an interesting point of view about social dialogues and social memories, from Brazilian shamans, natives, Tropicalismous, carnaval references to old mythology, and new underground western crafts.

Artist was part of the Morni Hills Performance Biennale II in 2018.
